What does ceramic provide, and what not?

Ceramic coating forms a long-lasting protective layer that shields the paint from everyday external influences, enhances the depth of color and significantly eases vehicle maintenance. A car with ceramic coating keeps its shine and factory look longer.

Everyday environmental influences (road salt, insects, sap, industrial dust, acid rain, asphalt particles, overly strong car-wash chemicals, etc.) can permanently damage the paint. With ceramic they stick much harder, are easier to remove and leave fewer marks.

Ceramic coating preserves the shine and eases maintenance, but does not provide protection from deeper scratches and stone chips on the road. For the highest level of paint protection, PPF protection films are used.

Warranty on ceramic coating

Black Glass provides a written warranty on the ceramic coating for up to 5 years. The warranty applies to cars that are properly maintained (hand washing, without aggressive chemicals) and come in for regular checks every 6 to 12 months.

For cars that are outdoors 24/7 we recommend a check every 6 months, and for garaged and regularly maintained cars every 9 to 12 months.

A check includes inspecting the condition of the ceramic and decontaminating the paint with clay. If needed, a booster or a layer of ceramic is applied. The first check is free!

Unlike ceramic coating of the car paint, ceramic coating on films is not a primary protective layer, but an additional improvement of maintenance, appearance and surface resistance during use.

Although car wraps themselves represent a higher level of protection, and PPF film the highest level of paint protection from mechanical damage with its existing hydrophobic properties, ceramic coating for films additionally reduces dirt retention, eases maintenance and helps the film keep a tidy and fresh look longer.

Due to the different material structure, the lifespan of ceramic coating on films is shorter than on car paint: on PPF film up to 24 months, and on Wrap film up to 12 months. We recommend a check and refresh of the coating every 6 to 12 months to preserve the optimal effect.
